All About Love

I love Valentine's day. I love my Valentines.
( I also love chocolates, big bouquets of flowers, and cards made by little hands)
Today has been a good day.

Here's a very quick layout I did last night for Challenge Me Tuesday at Practical Scrappers. The challenge was to use a scroll banner. I grunged this Canvas one up using some mists, and folded and glued it to give it some dimension. The rest was just grabbed from bits and pieces I had lying on my desk. I love a random layout now and again.

Happy Valentines Day!
Erin

Good Monday morning! What better way to start the week than with a Blog Hop filled with great projects and inspiration using products from Momenta and The Twinery! Interested in winning an Ultimate Color Sampler Pack from the Twinery, or a Momenta Family Outings Paper Pad and lots matching embellishments? Leave a comment on each blog to be eligible. For an extra shot at the Momenta prize, visit our facebook page and leave a comment there.  You'll have until 11:59pm EST, Friday February 17th to participate. Drawing will be done by respective companies and announced on Monday, February 20th.

You should be arriving from Tifany DeGough's Blog
or to begin the hop, go to The Twinery blog.

I loved working with the delicious colours of twine, paired with my favorite bold and bright collections from Momenta!

I strung my embellishments on a tri-colour hanging banner on this all boy page, using elements from the Captain Jack 8x8 Album Kit. I also wrapped the crimped alphas with a bit of twine to tie them in.

Materials used:
The Twinery twine : Denim, Cappucino, Maraschino
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Distress Stain
Momenta:
gems, patterned paper, chipboard, stickers and letters:
PK-2359 Captain Jack 8x8 Album Kit
ST-1814 Crimped Glitter Black Uppercase Alpha

Something about the twine just begs to be used in a banner, so I strung up some Mini Puffy dots and butterflies on this birthday card.

Materials used:
The Twinery twine : Lemondrop, Pink Sorbet
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper
Momenta:

PA-2390 B&W 12x12 Textured Cardstock Pad
PA-2240 Family Forever 12x12 Premium Paper Pad

ST-4708 Free To Be Me Mini Puffy Dots
ST-4710 Kaleidoscope Mini Puffy Dots
ST-3910 DYO Small Jack Uppercase

what better way to get a taste of lots of colours? A rainbow of couse! This one is hiding behind pop dotted clouds and framed with more twine, and sanded textured cardstock.

Materials used:
The Twinery twine : Maraschino, Mandarin, Lemondrop, Peapod, Caribbean, Denim, Lilac and Honeydew
Bazzill Basics Paper
Momenta:
PA-2328 Family Outings Super Paper Pad

More pages and a card!

Have I mentionned how fun it is to have another "girl" in the house? The best part is being able to break out some girly scrapbook stuff for a change! I apologize in advance for all the doggie pages that i'll be posting...but isn't she pretty!?

This was a card I created for Practical Scrappers corrugated elements. The cardboard was leftover from some gingerbread men that I cut.

This one is from 8 weeks 10 challenges contest over at LCOM. There's still time to enter if you can scrap fast! Love these goofy photos from this summer's family vacation. Oh yeah, sweet little girl cousins are also great for flowers!

up for the challenge

I must say I've been pretty productive in the last few weeks, but not able to share much here, until DT reveals and such. Ive got 2 layouts to share  for LCOM's new sketch #118 reveal today, and a few challenges from the forum and the 8 weeks 10 challenges  contest.
Both of these are based on Sketch #118 by my friend JJ Sobey for LCOM. One page was done with the sketch provided to the design team, and one page done on the "special" 8 PHOTO version JJ sent me!
She was trying to have a little fun with me, so of course, I had to take her up on the challenge- and I really love the page.

This one was done as part of the Dollarstore Extravaganza Challenge being hosted over on the LCOM Forum. The challenge for February was to use 1 of 2 selected Dollarstore items with a provided definition of the word "Love". I chose to use the cupcake liners, making my own washi tape with them, One punched ( upper right) and a ruffled accent strip.

 Materials:
PP: My Mind's Eye
Die Cuts: My Mind's Eye
Chipboard: ScrapWorks
Satin Hearts: Dollarama
Cupcake Liners: Dollarstore
Ribbon: American Crafts
Letter Stickers: American Crafts
Distress Stain
Fonts: Adobe Garamond, Georgia, Efon

This one is for Challenge #5 of the 8 Weeks 10 Challenges- let me just say that this contest is keeping me on my toes, along with all the other things I'm working on. We had to use the title " Love is in the Air, use at least 1 photo, visible journaling and use traditional Valentine colours. I searched for some time to find a photo of Mark and I alone together...need to make sure we get more of those somehow.

Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper
PP: Luxe, Echo Park
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist

Believe it or not, there's more for me to share, but I'll keep them for another post.
Have a great week-end!
