and the winner is...

...to be announced shortly! Voting has started for the last round of LCOM's Scrapping with the stars! I'm up against 2 wonderful ladies, and from the looks of the final projects, it's going to be a tight race! Our final challenge was to alter an item using no patterned paper. We were allowed to make our own pp of course, and had to incorporate a handmade flower.

I had been contemplating how I was going to do this printer's tray for some time. I knew I wanted to use it to display some of the treasures I found inside my Grandmother's sewing machine table, and this was the perfect opportunity.

I used vintage fabrics, needle cases, wooden spools, buttons and button cards, photocopied needle cases, spool tops and other packaging. I was so happy that I got my hands on some Helmar glues just in time to stick the tricky stuff on. Liquid Scrap Dots aren't only were they great for creating dimension on the spool caps; they also work wonders on heavier uneven objects like the metal bobbins.

Only the bit of coloured carstock, and lace weren't sewing drawer finds. The flowers were made by gathering some trims ( really the best way to feature them anyway).

The SWTS challenge was loads of fun, and well organized. If you are looking for fun challenges, and a friendly forum, the next big challenge should be coming shortly over at LCOM. Come and join us!

Wish me luck,
Erin
